Hello! I have advanced degrees in chemistry and dogmatic theology, and one in systematic philosophy in the works. I am an educator, speaker, author, and mother passionate about finding God through science in the intellectual tradition of the Catholic Church.

Author and Speaker

Stacy Trasancos

Stacy Trasancos has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Penn State University and worked as a senior research chemist for DuPont before converting to Catholicism. She left her career to stay home with her highly complex composite systems who call her Mommy. In those years, she earned a M.A. in dogmatic theology while keeping a large family together and published five books on the integration of science and theology. She and her husband, Jose, operate Children of God for Life, an organization that fights to end the use of aborted children in research. Dr. Trasancos teaches online science and theology courses for Seton Hall University and Holy Apostles College and Seminary, is a Fellow of the Word on Fire Institute, and frequently appears on Catholic radio, podcasts, and television. After the publication of her book, Particles of Faith, John Farrell at Forbes wrote, “Trasancos represents a very rare bird, the scientist who did not cease to be a geek even after she got religion.” She is, at last, pursuing a second M.A. in systematic philosophy.

By Stacy Trasancos, PhD and Fr. George Elliott

Behold, It is I

Scripture, Tradition, and Science on the Real Presence

Foreword by Bishop Joseph E. Strickland

Christ is really present in the Holy Eucharist! And therefore, the Holy Eucharist is the greatest gift in this world. But many have lost faith in Christ’s presence at every Mass. This compelling book provides the most convincing proofs for the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist from Scripture, Tradition, and scientific investigations of Eucharistic miracles. Accompanied by Church Fathers Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus of Lyons and Cyril of Jerusalem, Fr. George Elliott leads the reader to an encounter with our Lord like a first century Christian. Dr. Stacy Transacos analyzes the popular Eucharistic miracles reported in Bolsena and Lanciano, Italy, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a twenty-first-century chemist’s objectivity. Together, Fr. Elliott and Dr. Trasancos lead you from the burning faith of the saints to the light of the Gospels, to modern science, and right back to the Word. With well researched details and thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter, this book will convict and empower you to evangelize to the world that the Holy Eucharist is not a symbol but truly flesh, bone, hands, and feet. “Behold,” Christ said, “It is I.”

The “theology of science” refers to the study of what God has revealed about Himself and about us in Creation (Catechism of the Catholic Church  68). It is about understanding science in its proper context as the study of the handiwork of God, for all branches especially physics, chemistry, and biology. The Center for Theology of Science is a partnership of several organizations who sponsored resources and support. It began with a seed grant awarded by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER) program to Holy Apostles College & Seminary located in Cromwell, Connecticut.

Children of God for Life was founded in 1999 by Mrs. Debra Vinnedge, who served as Executive Director until her retirement in 2021. It all began with a Campaign for Ethical Vaccines. Debi realized that while moral theologians argued about “licit cooperation with evil” and the Church asked us to fight abortion and demand ethical medicines, parents and doctors needed help knowing how to do the right thing and stand up to the pharmaceutical industry. Her “yes” to God was Children of God for Life. In 2021, Jose and Stacy Trasancos took up the fight. We cannot settle for a culture that exploits the remains of unwanted children killed by abortion.
